She was the daughter of Lida Jeanne Wright is American and her father Robert 'Bob' Henry Krause was of half-Japanese origin. Nathaniel Krause, her younger brother, who is an executive director at a film company is also a filmmaker. She is able to spend a great deal of time with her family members, and going on vacations and barbecues. She feels very emotionally attached to her father and has even bought him a house near her so that they get to know each other more often.
