Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale (born on April 2, 1985) is an American professional basket ball player. She plays for Dallas Wings and the Women's National Basketball Association. She played basketball in college for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wings drafted her with the fifth pick of the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was conceived on the 2nd of March in 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are two of her siblings. She was the youngest of her family, and her parents took care of her the most. Gregory was a Nigerian Army officer for a length of duration. Ogunbowale is from a family that has ties to the sporting world. Her brother Dare played football and Yolanda Ogunbowale, her mother played softball. Her aunt used to play volleyball at UAPB and her cousin Endia Oliver also plays volleyball in Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was on the high school's Honour Roll for three years consecutively. In high school, Ogunbowale has been awarded numerous prizes and was recognized as a celebrity. Arike earned her degree from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School which is in Arike's hometown. She was also a part of three seasons of varsity while she was studying at the school. Her skills helped her win some stunning victories at her school. Her High School career with 73 career starts and has a total of 1 477 and 739 rebound. Ogunbowale won gold in 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championships and the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships. In 2014, the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team was announced on the 7th July 2014. Ogunbowale was also named on the ACC All-Freshman Team following her first collegiate year.
